I was waiting for someone to post first, lol. I have meet some incredible friends and players in this addictive Game of Thrones Ascent ( I may need therapy for lack of clicking) I have had a blast in AvA and I am thankful for so many making it a great place to laugh, moan and even forge friendships and great enemies to do battle with. ;) Thanks to all in HQ, SC and Kongregate and the OC for the great ride. ♥♥♥

I know my wrists and hands ( am ambidextrous) will get better without the clicking that's for sure! Regarding friends, well there's always the ability to chat with them on whatever message service we won't be quite the same unless DB considers re skinning the base game and coming up with another storyline.

I will miss the 'b.i.t.c.h-fests' we had with our friends over certain players and their whinge tactic messages sent in game when you engaged with them in AVA and they apparently didn't want you to, (still weird to me as we are not mind readers.) Always a giggle.

I will miss the blue screen of 'DEATH' when you find your game not responding, and then the chats and moans with friends about who can or cannot get in.
I will miss the caps messages of ..... 'OMFG I GOT IN''...... and the dash to get in yourselves.

The sneaking downstairs to send out a foray of SS in AVA at some blasted ungodly hour of the night/morning..why???? why??? lol..but its FUN.

Stealing the march on some alliance that.s been harassing you all AVA, and because you are in a different time zone just as AVA is ending and they are all in bed, you can slide in and 'get em' Lol.

This is where I confess that I haven't a blasted clue when I read peoples long posts on numbers, probability concepts yad yada what is that all about?... Now before anyone has a hissy fit about this sentence, its just that I really cant get a grip of that, so just play this game because its fun.
I might have had more fun of course if I understood those posts! But for those that have taken the time to work things out I salute you...seriously!

Heading off now to steal the march on someone else before they wake up and discover I stole something or other....................................................................................
We are rushing headlong into the abyss.......................the night is definitely long and most assuredly full of terrors!
  • It was such a fun game! And it didn’t require me to be on 24/7 like some to compete...unless I wanted to! I have played games that cost a fortune and only the super rich can survive! Don’t play any of them now. Hint hint. Most didn’t survive because they lost their player base. Because losing because you’re poor all day really **tsk tsk**! I’m not rich but not poor either. My point is, I lost a lot of good friends, and a game I spent infinite hours on, I tossed in the trash like it was a piece of garbage. And after awhile, it turned out to be just that. Trash. And the game was fun! Much like this one, but I must say, I had way more fun and enjoyed Gota the most of all I played! I will miss the game and all of you! Thank you for all the time, energy and most importantly, the staff and players!! Which we wouldn’t have had the chance to play without either of them!! Take care all!!

    With love,

  • My Kongregate character will miss his teacher Mouldy Dragoon. My FB character will miss almost everyone
  • So today is the day..I feel sad, but I am ever hopeful that the kickstarter campaign gets going.

  • Echoing Guin, I would like to take a moment to urge anyone still in the forums to contribute to the Kickstarter campaign. I checked it earlier today. There are only 13 days left, and it still needs close to $500,000 in contributions. That means a lot of smaller contributions will be needed if we are to make an impact.

If I had the money, I would contribute the highest amount. Alas, I don't. I get paid bi-weekly. The deadline will pass before I can afford a mid-tier contribution. After paying bills, I'm considering contributing a lower tier amount.

But if the game is to survive in a non-GoT format, we need your help!

    Consider this, if you will:
The only way to get lasting value for the money you already spent is to meet the Kickstarter goals before the deadline.

If nothing else, at least check out the Kickstarter page:
  • Missing the game already.

    GG, everyone...
    Add me as a friend.

  • My first ever game-with-a-community experience. The game itself really isn't the main reason what kept me here, but my team made it very interesting, as did allies and rivals.

Although I must say the unadressed, massive cheating is likely to make me never invest the amount of time I did in GotA in any other game, am glad it never deterred me from GotA and the awesome people I met in-game and even outside the game.
Overall it's been a good time, and despite the problems it was fun. Am glad I was part of a great and friendly team that worked hard to balance competitiveness with fun and RL.

For those that wish to continue playing am sad that KA doesn't seem to be picking up and as a final word to DB: people might have had more faith if the policy had been more transparant for players.
I know the whole set up for KA is transparancy, but is it really? I still saw on-point questions dodged, people unanswered and pretty words I can't be sure can be lived up to. Though I do believe the intention is there.
Leaving the alts issue unadressed wasn't the best move really. Poor TOS lady still doesn't know if she can port all of her 15+ alts. In all seriousness, is it that hard to make up a decent, clear policy on them and stick to it?
Saying the game isn't shutting down when word hits the license is lost and then shutting it down anyway is going to make a lot of people unable to take a company for it's word.
Saying you monitor cheating while in reality everyone can see those that do aren't caught has made me lose good teammates and the faith every customer puts into a company upon becoming a customer. Once you lose that trust, lovely words generally aren't enough to regain it.
Ignoring questions that you don't have an answer to is never a good thing either. I still have at least two tickets open and once something was "forwarded to the design team", one would know there would never be an actual answer. It's funny in hindsight, but any future customer encountering this problem won't be amused, lol.
This seems to be a big part in a lot of GotA players not pledging.
Fullwell realize that I don't have all the facts, am merely explaining my experience and what I saw discussed in hopes it may help on future endeavours. On which I still wish DB all the best.

Regardless, a thank you for the friends I found here, and the fun too. If it hadn't been DB having this game, a lot of us would have missed out on meeting some great people.
Some less great too, but even they made one appreciate the good ones more. ;)
Everyone played their part in their own way, and it was sad to see it all end.

    Fun & luck to all.
