  • Can a way be programmed to mark crew as needed because they are being used for daily Cadet Missions, as Bridge Crew, as Voyage Crew? Like a drop down via the settings tab? Otherwise they always show as Space/Freeze. (Isn't the 'Space' redundant as it shows up once you've immortalized, and at that point, you can only freeze them?)
    Thanks!

it's got space/freeze so you can select crew you've got to see if you should keep them, even if they are not 4/4 yet. if they are 1/4 you can see what reasons you may want to consider keeping them, if not they are a space candidate (airlock).

"Space/Freeze" shows up after you mark them FF/FE in the Active column. You can't space immortalized crew.
"If you mark crew members as 'Active' that are not level 100, fully fused and fully equipped, the results of this spreadsheet can and will be inaccurate."
  • @DigitalPimp the cadet missions are on by default. There is a switch in the Advanced Settings tab to turn off either the weekday or weekend cadet crews

The Space/Freeze comes from the formula in the Necessities tab in column C. You could change it, but there may be a reason for Space to be in that string that I'm not aware of.

@Ward Serpentine: Are you sure? She is listed as having it on the wiki, and if I do a search for 'Veteran' in my Cryostasis Collection, she does show up.

No, but I have thought about something like that before. I may have another look at seeing if there is a nice way to implement a 'keep this crew despite not having any requirements' override.

Technically, yes. It is simply something that was put in when the sheet was originally created and which I have never given much thought to.

However, as the sheet is also used by people to check on non-immortalised crew (despite the direst of warnings and gravest of disclaimers), it is probably fine to keep as is.

@Leshy My bad. I was looking at Dr Chapel and not Commander Chapel. I crossed the streams :)

I did notice that Dr Chapel didn't have the Human trait, but I don't know if that was just my sheet or if it was on the main one. I'll have a look.

Yes it's true that if I select a crew member that's 1/4 the results will be inaccurate in telling me that I can currently complete a mission that I can't because my crew is only 1/4 (which I add to the notes column for that crewmember).

What use would it be waiting until I have a crew FF, only to select it on the sheet and find out that crew is not useful for any mission, collection, max base crew or now voyage score? I've then held a slot occupied for perhaps months, which I could have airlocked in favor of a better option.

I have every FF AND partially fused crew selected in this spreadsheet, so that when I add another one that drops in a voyage I can quickly tell if they're in a collection, allow a rare mission node to be completed, etc. This is especially important as an aid in selecting a crew from a behold, as I can choose ALL 3 of them on the spreadsheet and see what benefits they offer when fully fused (if they're worth consuming a slot for until I do have them FF).

Figured it out - Joseph Sisko was already in crew members list from 2.25.. so when re-added in 2.26 he got doubled up and overlapped the Admiral Paris entry.

Side note: Captain Rachel Garrett and Pugilist Q really want to sort alphabetically under R and Q, respectively.

    xxxxx
Scratch that - hes in the release.. just didn't get copied over to my save for some reason..

Hmm not seeing Admiral Owen Paris added in despite being in the version notes..

Yes, looks like I somehow missed those columns when copying all formulas down. It's now fixed!

    Hi Team,

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but help me out here. I have Advanced Settings // Display Best Crew for Base/Max Skills for each Rarity set for 3* No, 4* Yes, 5* Yes, for both columns and each skill. I have Advanced Settings // Adjust Number of Best Active Crew for each Skill set to 4.

So how come Admiral Ross is showing as Space/Freeze when I have him marked as Active FF/FE and in-game he's showing up as 4th best 4* when I sort crew by DIP Base?
  • LeshyLeshy ✭✭✭
    Hi Jordan,

Hard to say why that is the case without seeing a copy of your sheet, but presumably the sheet is under the impression that you have better DIP base crew. Do you have the correct stat bonuses from your starbase and crew collections included in the 'Advanced Settings' tab?

Easy way of checking it out yourself would be to unhide the 'Data' tab (click the 4-line button next to the + button all the way at the bottom left and click the 'Data' tab) and increase the number of 'Best Active Crew' to a higher setting. The Data tab will list what it has as the top x crew, which will allow you to see where Admiral Ross ranks and which crew the sheet calculates to have a higher base DIP.

Thanks Leshy, I was poking around in the Necessities tab trying to figure out how it was being calculated. I changed the best active crew count to 6, and now see this in Data tab:

    DIP Base
    Etana Jol
    Victorian Pulaski
    Minuet
    Prospero Data
    Admiral Ross
    Bell Riots Bashir

This might explain what my misunderstanding was.... or it's a bug. But I assume the former. I thought that the Display Best Crew for Base/Max Skills for each Rarity, with say best active count of 4, meant it would flag the top four of each rarity for the particular base/max skills. This appears to be saying it takes the top X of the 4* and 5* in aggregate, rather than individually. (I have a few non-FFFE crew marked Active, such as 4/5 Etana Jol, which can lead to discrepencies between in-game ranking and the DNAC, but that doesn't affect the issue I'm describing in terms of top four 4* crew.)

My stat bonuses are accurate or mostly so. I'm not sure how that would affect this though, since a multiplier of a single stat across crew can't change the ordering of the crew by that stat.

EDIT: Re-reading the descriptive text on the Advanced Settings tab, it appears that these two settings are completely unrelated. I understand why the best active Number of Crew for each skill is useful, and this is the one I primarily want to use. I'm a bit fuzzy on why the 3*, 4*, and 5* base/max for each skill settings are useful. Like, if someone is 4* best cmd max, but isn't in the top 6 cmd max overall, do you care? I know the descriptive text says:
The sheet marks the top crew for each rarity and skill.

As you gain more 4* and/or 5* crew, these requirements may become obsolete. This setting allows you to turn them off.

But I'm now confused as to when this is ever useful. Thank you in advance for helping me understand.
  • This may be subjective but, in my view, when a Collection is Completed, the crew members which might further contribute to that completed Collection should not longer have the Collection listed under the "Why do I still need this crew member?" column in the Crew Members tab.
Strictly speaking, you do not still need this crew member, as the collection is complete.
Perhaps it is fine to list those crew members grayed out in the Collections tab, as it displays currently. But it seems incorrect to do so in the Crew Members tab.
As it is, the "work around" I employ is to set the Collection to Disabled. But you might consider this as a feature request.

I think that's exactly why there are per-collection "Display Cryostasis Collection Requirements" toggles. Keep in mind that some players are completionists and like to collect/immort crew in a collection even if there are no more reward tiers remaining.
  • In the Advanced Settings -> Adjust Required Mission Success Chance / Accuracy of Requirements -> Required success rate (%), may I suggest changing the display values from:

    100
    75-99
    50-74
    25-49
    <25

    To:

    100
    75+
    50+
    25+
    <25

I think this both more clear and more technically correct. I.e., if you select 25-49, it's still going to report crew with values over 50% chance of success. (Right?)

Yes, that is indeed the case.

    [...]

But I'm now confused as to when this is ever useful. Thank you in advance for helping me understand.
It is basically a setting/requirement that was already present in the sheet when I took it over, and which I have just kept as-is.

The one main reason I can think of is that it allows newer players to easily identify what 3* or 4* crew to focus on when the higher-rarity crew are still mostly out of reach or difficult to get.

With regard to your suggestion regarding the display values, I will have a look at it. Seems fair enough, just need to ensure that the formulas referencing the setting are correctly updated.
As it is, the "work around" I employ is to set the Collection to Disabled. But you might consider this as a feature request.
If I recall correctly when implementing it at the time, it would be quite difficult to have them show up on the 'Collections' tab, but not on the Crew Members tab, without duplicating the requirements. It has been some time, so I could have another look, but cannot make any promises.

The workaround that you describe is indeed a perfectly viable way to solve the issue.

As the last act of 2018, the sheet is now updated to version 2.50, which includes recommendations for Voyages. They're a bit more refined than in the previous test version that was available.

A great New Year to everyone and have a great 2019!
