There have been protest in Berlin, London, Manchester and other cities across the world.

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2020/05/31/george-floyd-international-protests/5300108002/

There are even some players of the Bundesliga that have been protested too, like Jadon Sancho.

I heard that it had spread to Canada, but I did not realize that it crossed the ocean. I hope all of our players and devs stay safe.

Wow. I had no idea this was worldwide. This is nuts. I prolly won’t sleep until the sun comes back up. It’s too close to home

The protest here in Europe have been peacefully.

In London there have been a protest outside the U.S. Embassy, and well, the people broke the lockdown rules there.

They are NOT peaceful here. We have been listening to the police scanner. The entire area has been declared a state of emergency

I hope I'm not out of line for saying so, but 2020 is just awful. I can't wait to put this year in the rear view mirror.

I think that is about an “in line” statement as there is right now. I keep thinking what kind of world will it be for my daughter?

I'll do my part and try to stay at home and spread positivity. That's what I think the world needs, anyway.

We could really use Mr. Rogers this year. His messages were always so basic, pure, and filled with genuine care

Did you see the Mr. Roger's movie that came out recently? Very good. There is a slightly older documentary that is also good.

And now another nationwide problem has arisen. My wife and I were visiting her parents for the first time since March and I had to take my wife and child and flee from rioters as they were blocks away destroying malls. I asked her parents if they wanted to come with us to our house as we live in the 46th safest town in America but they said no. Now they are locked inside their house as businesses have closed and the city has instructed them to stay indoors. We took side streets home away from malls and stores but I told my wife be ready because if anyone is in the street I am not stopping the car. That would be signing all
Of our death sentences including our two year old daughters. At that point it’s them or us and it sure as hell won’t be us.

We have a family friend who told us today she has a sister in Minneapolis who just bought a shotgun. For myself, I'm happy to live in a smaller city in a peaceful state. I'm also thrilled for the thousandth time that I no longer have to work in Seattle.

Funny you should mention that, because I'll be driving to work in Seattle in a few hours!

Absolutely I did. The message was there but it was a little hard to watch knowing that no one can be Mr. Rogers no matter how hard they try. Little known fact that I caught myself but have seen it said elsewhere, when they are in the restaurant and he tells the reporter to take a moment of silence to think about those who touched his life, the camera focuses on someone at a table which was his real life wife

Well, back to the COVID-19, if you want to know why I'm so angry with the regional government of Madrid, here you have an example.

"This protocol [of the regional health department] advised the 22 regional hospitals to refuse admission to one of the largest groups of care residents – senior citizens with grade three dependence, who require ongoing or continuous support. The document also recommended that hospitals turn away patients with disabilities who were living in special homes. From Tuesday of that week [March 17], news of bodies being left in nursing homes and ambulances refusing to help senior patients had filled the headlines."

This was the week after the Spain's government declared the state of alarm. According to figures from the Madrid regional government, 6,007 care home residents died between March 8 and June 2 from Covid-19 or associated symptoms.

"In the end, the regional health chief was forced to backtrack on the decision to exclude people with disabilities, regardless of their age, after the protocol was leaked to the media and associations demanded it be changed. The final version of this document, which was completed on March 25, excluded patients with advanced dementia, grade three dependents, and people suffering from a terminal illness."

Today the regional health chief has admited that this instruction was only part of a draft and that was sent by mistake.

    https://english.elpais.com/society/2020-06-05/madrid-chief-warned-against-refusing-hospital-admission-to-care-home-residents-they-will-die-in-undignified-conditions.html

Good news are that next week the soccer will return to Spain too, without public, and even if you think that it was impossible, there are people asking to let the people go to the stadiums! Yeah, stadiums with a capacity of 60,000, 70,000, 90,000 people, even if it's just a one-third of it's capacity, what could go wrong?

I share your anger, and sadness.

Well, if people showed disciplined, I could see how less capacity would work.
Alas, disciplined people are rare, we've seen enough examples ;p

Speaking of events, my home country is famous for a very big music festival.
Of course it had to be canceled but they are organizing a worldwide digital event instead.

It is great to see new initiatives being taken :)

Continue to be good to each other, and to be safe.

A funny story from this weekend. A mysterious crocodile!

Police and specialist wildlife officers are using boats and a drone to search a stretch of Pisuerga river in north-west Spain (Castilla y León region) after three sightings of what is thought to be a Nile crocodile. According to a police officer that saw the animal, It was a crocodile that measured between 1.5 metres and 2 metres.

There are many reports of sightings of the crocodile, but the animal is still missing! Many experts believe now that the supposed crocodile could be just an otter :D

Thanx. Been awake mostly since Wednesday afternoon. But feels better now. Hopefully won't need a stent when they do the next procedure in two weeks.

    Happy Monday everyone :)

Please stay safe and continue to wear face coverings (nose and mouth), wash your hands, and keep with the physical distancing.

This is far from over, and we all can do our part to limit the spread.

    Have a great week <3

    And here we go again....

Spain's northeastern Catalonia region on Saturday locked down an area with around 200,000 residents near the town of Lleida (Lérida) following a surge in cases of the new coronavirus.

    https://www.thelocal.es/20200704/catalonia-places-200000-people-under-coronavirus-lockdown

We're having many new outbrakes in the last week, basically for the sttupidity and recklessness of the people, because many people don't follow the health guides, even the basic ones, like the use of the mask

And there were some people that wanted (and still want!) people in the stadiums. Fortunately the National Sports Council says that's not gonna happen.

From what I've read this weekend, it is more and more certain that it is not just big droplets that are the issue, but also much smaller particles that stay in suspension in the air for a good amount of time.

This explains a lot in my opinion.
So mask on, as uncomfortable as it can be.

Let's take care of each other :)

This gave me a chuckle when I came across it some time ago. Was waiting for an appropriate time to use it, but as that hasn't yet happened, I thought maybe it'd at least bring a smile to somebody else's face...
