  • I cant figure out how to start a new thread, But maybe by doing this we can all figure out the best paths for best rewards? or what path allowed the part 2 or 3

There's already been work done to this end on the wiki: https://stt.wiki/wiki/Dilemmas#List_of_Dilemmas

Sadly, since it's heavily dependent on RNG (like everything else in this game), mileage varies.

Thank you. I never saw this. however it doesn't show what to select to get part 2 or 3... Like you get Champion of the people part 2 by selecting champion of the people part 1 , Answer #1

in the same manor, there may be other part A-B you cant get by selecting the right choice.

Actually it does in at least some cases. Look at a Higher Duty .. shows what ones for 1 to get 2 etc.

Hmm havent gotten them yet but did recently get Mirror Sisko and Lily.

Congrats! That's great that we have another confirmation for this Dilemma rewarding Fierce Guinan. Do you remember if you picked Choice A or B?

The Lowdown on Dilemma RNG... (posted here to answer someone's question about "Part 2's", but updated with the Part 3 below)

There are 10 "Part 2" Dilemmas out of 35 (28%), and now we know there is at least 1 "Part 3". I wouldn't say they are rare (well, their level in the game would be considered Rare), just not in order. When most Voyages go about 6 hours, you're only talking about 3 Dilemmas. So, your RNG luck to have a Part 1 on the first or second Dilemma, THEN the luck of Part 2 on the 3rd Dilemma is low. Even on 10 hour voyages, you only have 5 Dilemmas... there are 35 dilemmas for RNG to choose from, with 11 of them requiring a prerequisite Dilemma. Also, duplicates can happen during the same Voyage. Here are the stats of what the RNG picks from:

    17 Uncommon
    - These have primarily the 30/30/2* Crew Reward (or some get a 3* Crew)
    - 10 of these can lead to a Part 2

    11 Rare
    - These have primarily 60/50/3* Crew Reward (or some get a 4* Crew)
    - Of these, 9 require a prerequisite Uncommon
    - Only 2 can be chosen by RNG without the prerequisite (Outstretched Talons and Winter's Price)

    7 Super Rare
    - These have primarily 100/75/4* Crew Reward (or some get 5-5* Rations)
    - 1 requires a prerequisite Uncommon (A Life Alone, Part 2)
    - 1 requires 2 prerequisites - (A Higher Duty, Part 3) - THIS ONE IS SAID TO CONTAIN Fierce Guinan... and possibly Colonel Worf in Choice B (unverified), but there could be another Part 3 that no one has seen yet for Colonel Worf.

So technically, RNG pulls from an initial list of 24 Dilemmas (17 Uncommon, 2 Rare, 5 Super Rare) for your 2 hour mark. If it happens to be one of the 11 that can lead to a Part 2, then RNG pulls from 25 Dilemmas (because the part 1 could repeat).

Now, what do you think your chances are to get A Higher Duty, Part 1 at 2h, Part 2 at 4h, and Part 3 at 6h (or if you've actually seen Part 1 AND Part 2, throw some dilithium and try to get it at the 8h or 10h? Someone do the math, but it is a very small number - just like all other "best chances" in this game! Obviously it can happen, as someone has stated they have received Fierce Guinan from Part 1 Choice A, Part 2 Choice B, Part 3 Choice A. The nice thing is, you only have to get it ONCE per crew - then use 54k honor to get 3 citations to FF.

Chalk it up to a chance like those that have received 6 Locutus or Bartender Guinan in Gauntlet chests, and others have received 0! I am thankful I received 1 Locutus and 4 Bartender Guinans in 5,000 Gauntlet rounds. I'm watching and waiting for the elusive Part 3 in Voyages. Oh yeah, and those that have tried for nearly a year to get "The Game" K'Tarian headset. DB "Best Chance" is lower than getting hit by lightning...

Taking your numbers, and assuming even odds(which may be an unlikely assumption), then the odds of getting Part 3 at 6 hours is 1/24 * 1/25 * 1/26 = .006%. If you go to 8 hours, then you have 4 paths to hit the same missions so .026%. Given these numbers, DB could have put Worf and Guinan as guaranteed crew on that mission and just counted on the RNG mission selection to make them rare.

Honestly, those numbers are so low that they're basically unreachable. Even the 8 hour voyages would take years before you have a decent chance of getting the right combination. At least with gauntlet people are getting ~7-8 crates/day so low odds hit sometimes. Voyages you get 2/day so it takes even longer before you get a rare event.

Ok, so I'm rusty on this level of math --- so what would be the number of Dilemmas necessary to make it a 50% possibility of doing all three? (or the number of Dilemmas necessary to make it 50% if you had the first two and just need three)?

I don't want to think through the possibilities for starting from scratch, but once you have the first two, then it would be 1/26 - 1/35 chance of getting the third. 1/26 is best case if you never unlock another multi-part dilemma and 1/35 once everything is unlocked.

That's 3.85% - 2.86% chance of getting the dilemma, or 96.15% - 97.14% chance of not getting it. You would then need 18 - 24 more dilemmas to hit 50% chance of getting the dilemma at some point. So we're talking ~2 day long voyage to have a 50% chance once you've unlocked the first two.

Definitely now convinced not worth chasing.
  • I got part one at 4 hours then went 12 hours without getting part two. Well, dilithium spent and lesson learned. I kept getting part one and two of totally different dilemmas

I got part 1 and 2 of the Andorian/Gorn dilemma yesterday, but the went past 8 hours without getting part 3. Got part 1 again today, we'll see what happens.

The dilemma you're talking about it Blow by Blow, which I think only has two parts (part 2 being Friends in Need). The dilemma with Guinan is A Higher Duty.

Someone mentioned getting Colonel Worf. My guess is that there is another part 3 or a different dilemma that yields him. The poster did not mention how he got him, but that he was trying to be the first to max.

Any chance you can point to that thread or post? If he has Colonel Worf, it's only because of RNG. A quick level to 100 and 54,000 Honor and he has first to max. It won't do anything for him to say how or where it came from. Others would have to get the RNG luck to have that series of Dilemmas.

    @Captain Jello
Did a search found that it is in this thread. Do not understand why I did not see it.

South of Sulu is the one that got him. I do not know if he knows how he got him or not. But he does say he was hurrying to be first to max him.

I got Colonel Worf. I was stockpiling for a Galaxy Event so I was letting my Voyages run long. So I think the dropped at the 8 or 10 hour mark.

Because DB provides no information I did not even realize that this was one of the few ways to obtain him. Someone on Discord mentioned no one had him yet so I raced to finish him to get my first "first to max".

Decided to repeat your post. For some reason it was not on page one when I looked though thread.

When your done FFFE’ing him. If you remember how you got him I think we all would like to know.

Thanks Waldo. I've been following this thread since the beginning and somehow missed Sulu's post. Congrats Sulu.
  • Captain Sisko posted a screenshot of Colonel Worf being received and which Dilemma he dropped from in the 'Wiki edits needed to be added" thread. He even said he got Part 3 TWICE (lucky bastage)... the second time he chose the other option and received 2x 4* Component.

So, there is a Part 3 to Champion of the People and he drops from Choice B. Part 3 and Information have been added to the Wiki. After reading through the Dilemma text, I have to assume it is Champion of the People Part 1 Choice A, Part 2 Choice B, Part 3 Choice B.
  • This thread is Awesome! I was skeptical at first, but now I’m a believer. Great work everyone!!! I’m going to go back through here and hit the awesome button on every post.
  • Just to add some more credence to this thread - I just got my first Fierce Guinan from “A Higher Duty, Part 3”! It came at the 12 hour dilemma mark, only had to refresh twice. lvb8c92acb6j.png

Champion of the People, Part 3 is the one that drops Colonel Worf if you select option B (according to the wiki).
  • I’ve gone as far as 13 hours and never got more then 3*

    Heh, it's Spock's auto destruct code to reach part 3 - "code 1 1A 2B"

    are there any dilemmas where you can choose 0 - 0 - 0 - destruct - 0?

Thanks. I had the part 1 of champion of the people the voyage before at 2 hrs, but even after a 20 hr run I didn't get to part 2.
