The Little Book has upgraded to Sheets! Those familiar with the new Big Book will see the similarities but yes I moved over to the Sheets format as it's easier to update and stats are tracked in real time! Link updated below.

Added ratings for Tourist Worf, Picard At El-Adrel and Human Airiam too!

    Awezome job ...
Always like the funny comments and such ...

*psst* ... yer signature could use an update too ..

  • You've got an impressive amount of information collected, and as a new player I'm always looking to better educate myself on game mechanics like these. I wonder if I may ask a few questions, probably really basic stuff to most of you, that would help clarify my understanding of so much data? Thank you in advance for any light you might shed on my ignorance/confusion. FYI, I already did some digging of my own before asking any questions, to see if answers could be found in the glossary, wiki, or other forum resources.

    - What are the definitions of "tiers" and "cards", both terms used in the context of crew members? The only references to tiers I can find are to do with ships or maximum # of crew slots...and I find nothing explaining cards.

    - What is the significance of crew "rank", and is higher or lower better? I'm seeing many numbers given for base ranks, skill ranks, & voyage ranks...what exactly are the differences? The only info I've found is about arena ranks & gauntlet ranks, both of which I understand.

    - How/Why are events numbered (or totaled) for each crew member?

    - What are Gauntlet pairs?

    Thanks again for your patience!

I can answer some of these Q's for ya ..

All the crew/characters are commonly referred to as Cards ( from card collecting game )

The Tiers are what came from the community to give a objective value to cards, to help players figure out which cards to pick in the beholds and/or while leveling ( started by Automaton )

The significance of the rank in the " books" is based around usefullness of a card , can they complete certain mission nodes are their scoring for shuttles and voyages.

The event numbers represent how often a card was bonus in a event. ( Card, Variant or Trait )

Gauntlet pairs are what is used in the Q's Gauntlet , every gauntlet has 3 traits and 1 skill , the skill is featured very often in the gauntlet matches, and the traits provide crit-chance bonus.
The "nice" thing about the gauntlet is that only the 1st star counts on a card , making it easier to participate , and the scoring is based on the cards base numbers + an rng roll on their proficiency ( similar to missions ) , base is 5% , each trait matched boosts crit chance to 25/45/65% , and a crit doubles the scoring against the opponent.

The crew which is sent to the gauntlet is still available for other use in the game ( voyages/shuttles/missions/events) ... so a non-blocking bonus game which can reward goodies.

One minor correction here: only proficiencies are considered in the Gauntlet, no base stats are used. This is why 1/x* cards are so useful, because only leveling and adding equipment provides proficiency improvements (higher fusion levels only affect the base stats).
  • Thank you both...I've already been doing Gauntlets, so I've seen how proficiencies affect scores & traits affect crits. Does the term "Gauntlet pair" then mean that a given crew member will be useful twice as often, statistically...?

As for the numbers given on the charts, is a low number for rank or tier better than a high one? Suggesting that more players would place that particular crew member higher on their lists?

Yes a Rank is exactly that #1 is the best. A score would mean the higher value would better so someone with a base CMD of 1100 score is better than a CMD 400.

Gauntlet Pair are a reference to the traits.
No traits is 5% Crit Chance
    1 Trait 25
    2 Trait 45
    3 Trait 65
